Silkk Wants Peace With Cash Money

After racking up their fifth big week at No. 1 on Billboard magazine’s Hot Rap Singles chart, the 504 Boyz are out to restore No Limit to its late 90’s prominence. The mere fact that no single from the Cash Money arsenal currently occupies a spot in the Top Twenty (and hasn’t for several weeks) presents a golden opportunity for the tank riders to take shots at their cross-town rivals.
If you believe Master P’s accounts of how the Magnolia project playas have disrespected No Limit and the residents of New Orleans, you would think a little payback would be in order. However, P’s little brother, Silkk the Shocker has publicly extended two olive branches to the Cash Money family.
In The Sourc magazine, when Silkk was asked whether beef existed between the two crews, the youthful rapper replied "I hope not."
In a recent promo piece for Sonicnet.com, Silkk cleared the air about rumors circulating around the No Limit movie Hot Boys, which will air on UPN May 12.
"Hot Boys is a slang we all used around here for years. It has nothing to do with the group the Hot Boys," he said. "I respect the Cash Money Millionaires. I respect anybody trying to do this. There's enough money out here to go around for everyone."
Silkk, who had a small, but pivotal roll in I’m Bout It, is the lead character in Hot Boys and actually handles himself quite good in front of the camera… for a rapper. The 504 Boyz debut, Goodfellas, is in stores now and features the No. 1 hit single "Wobble Wobble"
Silkk’s new solo album, My World, My Way, is scheduled for late July release.
