Random thoughts:
Hiphop related and otherwise

by Warpticon, circa. '97

Why does no local store carry Aceyalone's new joint (or his old one, for that matter)? I might have to resort to having someone pick it up for me and mail it to me. . .Is it just me, or is live performance the new "trend" in hiphop?

Groups that don't have it on their albums have a band in all their live performaces (Goodie Mob, and MJG come to mind). . .not that I mind, I just wonder why they use synth and drum machine sounds to record the album, the lasting record of their hard work, then choose to carry a live band for their performances.

Who do I have to kill to see the Roots live? Why is it that every time I start to like Timbaland, he has go go and open his mouth and ruin it? Pardon my ignorance, but who are Jurassic 5? I just Oh, and all y'all, check for this cat named Rino outta Nihon (That's Japanese for "Japan") with this group called Lamp Eye.

I heard some samples of his stuff on the web, and I gotta say, he's got one of the sweetest flows I ever heard. The fact that I can't understand most of what he says is pretty irrelevant. I just know I gotta find a way to import that joint. Also, he's on a DJ Krush album as well, which also features Mos Def.

What is E-40 on? Crack? Speed? Helium? And who can remember the name of EWF song that whole song of his is basically a rap rewrite of? Listening to track 2 on that Black Eyed Peas joint, I can't help but wonder what percentage of hiphop heads even know the significance of the line "call me on my phone talkin' 'bout 'moshi moshi'. . ." I'd guess 5% at best.

That's it for now. Warpticon, ore wa hippuhopaa desu. Song Currently Stuck in Head (SCSiH): That damned E-40 song whose name I don't know.
